THANK YOU VILLAGE VOICE!

Here is what they say….

yeah, we knew that would get your attention. a-ok is the new, more affordable offshoot of the experimental clothing boutique oak. what you’ll find—in the basement of their noho shop and at the back of their williamsburg shop—are incredibly cool pieces for women and men at excellent prices, ranging from $5 to $275, with much of the stock under $100. labels include cheap monday, obey, warriors of radness, and, of course, a-ok, the inexpensive version of oak’s edgy, unusual line. fun accessories are the shop’s specialty: you’ll find multicolored sunglasses for $5 (cheaper than the ones from those dudes on st. mark’s), vintage swatch watches for $52, spiky bracelets for $22, and bowlers and fedoras for $48. brooklyn-based designer chris habana collaborated with a-ok to create jewelry that pays tribute to your favorite pop icon (for instance, you can get a tiny white mj glove or a gold conical bra on a chain for $54). and when someone asks you where you got your clothes, you’ll be excited to tell them all about your new discovery—or, then again, maybe you’ll just want to keep it to yourself.
